Sha La La (The Peace and Harmony Song)

from The Salzburg Revolution by Kevin Heider

/

lyrics

I never write a song that doesn’t mean anything
But if that’s what it’s gonna take for me to bring
Peace and harmony to a world so clearly stuck
On relativity, and I’m speaking, morally,
Then I guess there’s just one thing I can sing
That won’t offend anyone,
And that’s “sha la la….”

First, I compose the music
Then I construct a melody
Then I write down my thoughts, but sometimes I wonder
If they’re gonna spark controversy

We’ve got Jesus, joy, hope, life, and love
We’ve got violence, death, sin, war, and fear
But if there ever was a song that everyone could sing together,
Well, I’ve got it right here

Because we don’t have to sing words that mean anything,
That might make us disagree
It’s an admittedly ignorant peace and harmony,
But at least we all can sing along with sha la la....

If you choose to listen on to the rest of these songs,
Be forewarned that before long
You might not like what I’ve got to say
But at least you can sing along with this one

Sha la la….
